FAQ's
What is the booking procedure?
- The venue can be provisionally held for you for 10 days without commitment.
- In order to confirm your booking for your preferred date, we will require our Terms and Conditions to be signed and returned and for a 50% deposit to be paid on the Site fee. A separate contract for the marquee will then be forwarded to you.
Can we hire the venue for a half day or a couple of hours?
- The venue is hired out to one client exclusively each day. Therefore whether you choose to utilise the venue for a couple of hours or up to the full hire period, you will still incur the same hire fee.
Can we bring our own caterers, photographers, florists etc?
- We have twelve recommended local caterers that you will need to select from. Specialist, ethnic and other caterers may be used at Osmaston Park by individual application. We would be happy to discuss these on an individual basis.
- With regards to photographers and florists and other suppliers, there are no restrictions on these and we would be happy to recommend some local businesses.
When can caterers and suppliers get access to the venue for setting up?
- Access for all suppliers is from 10.00am on the day of the event. Access to the venue outside these hours must be by appointment with Osmaston Park.
Can we smoke in the marquee?
- Due to government legislation from the 1st July 2007 smoking is no longer permitted within the marquee. Guest may smoke outside of the marquee.
Can we leave things in the marquee overnight?
- You are able to leave items in the marquee overnight, however this is at your own risk. Osmaston Park does not accept any liability for these items. We must ask that you collect all items left in the marquee by 11am the following day.
Can we provide our own drinks?
- You can provide your own drinks however these maybe subject to a small corkage charge with your caterer. We advise you check with them what arrangements they have in place.
Can cars be left at the venue overnight?
- Cars can be left at the venue overnight, but must be collected between 9.00am and 11am the following day. After 11am the gates to the park will be closed, and the collection of cars will be subject to a fee. Osmaston Park does not accept liability for cars left in the car park overnight and are left at the owners risk.
Can we have heating or air conditioning?
- We can install either heating or air conditioning in the marquee as required. This will however be at an additional cost.
Are we able to have confetti?
- We have no objection to your guests using bio-degradable confetti and rose petals, however we do have restrictions on where this can be thrown. We can advise you on site visits where we allow this.
Can our event go on later than midnight?
- Due to nearby residences to Osmaston Park, all music must finish by midnight and the venue cleared by 1.00a.m at the latest.
Can we have fireworks?
- No, sadly we cannot allow firework displays out of consideration to the local residents and nearby livestock
Can we arrange coaches to come to the venue?
- Yes, coaches can drop off and pick up guest directly to the venue. This is our preferred way to transport guests as it minimizes traffic in a small village. We have a list of local companies that we would be happy to recommend.
Do you reccommend insurance for our wedding?
- We recommend that you do get insurance for your day. www.wedding-insurance.co.uk is a good website to obtain this from.
Can we use sky lanterns at our wedding?
- Unfortunately Sky Lanterns cannot be used at Osmaston Park as they are a fire hazzard to our marquee and dangerous to nearby livestock.
